WHAT TRAINING DOES YOUR WORKPLACE NEED?
Australian Standard AS 3745-2010 requires workplaces to have an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO). Here is the breakdown of the roles you need to fill.
The Fire Warden
PUAFER005 • Floor/Area Warden
These are your "boots on the ground". They are responsible for clearing their specific area, checking toilets/meeting rooms, and guiding staff to the assembly area.
- Sweeping the floor/area
- Communicating with Chief Warden
- Directing staff to safety
The Chief Warden
PUAFER006 • Leader
The "Captain" of the ship. They take charge of the entire emergency, communicate with emergency services (000), and make the final call on evacuation.
- Making the decision to evacuate
- Meeting the Fire Brigade
- Managing the Assembly Area

Real World Experience
Our trainers are active or retired firefighters.
BEYOND JUST "TICKING THE BOX"
Compliance isn't just about a certificate. It's about knowing your people can get out alive. We offer a complete safety ecosystem to ensure your workplace is genuinely ready.
Practical Firefighting
We bring a gas-fired simulator. Your team will actually put out a real fire using extinguishers and blankets.
Annual Evacuation Exercises
Required annually by law. We facilitate your drill, time your evacuation, and provide a detailed debrief report for your records.
Evacuation Diagrams
Are your maps up to date? We review and redesign your evacuation diagrams to ensure they meet AS 3745-2010.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Do we need to send our staff away for training?
No. We come to you. This is better because we train your staff in their actual work environment, using your specific exits and assembly areas.
How long does the training take?
A combined Warden & Chief Warden course typically takes 3-4 hours. We can also run shorter "Refresher" sessions (1.5 - 2 hours) for teams that have done it before.
Is this training nationally recognised?
Yes. We provide Nationally Recognised Training for the following units of competency:
- PUAFER005 - Operate as part of an Emergency Control Organisation
- PUAFER006 - Lead an Emergency Control Organisation
- PUAFER008 - Confine small emergencies in a facility
- CPPFES2005 - Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment
Delivered in partnership with Allens Training Pty Ltd (RTO 90909).
