Overview
This nationally recognised course equips participants with the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid in various emergency situations. It aligns with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and is ideal for individuals looking to meet workplace first aid requirements or enhance their ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
Course Structure
The course consists of two components:

Online Learning – A self-paced online module that must be completed before attending the face-to-face session. This allows participants to learn at their own pace, making it flexible and convenient.

Face-to-Face Practical Assessment – A hands-on training session lasting approximately 3 hours, where participants will apply their first aid skills in a simulated environment under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
Fees
The HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid course is priced at $150 per person. Please note, a minimum of 7 participants is required, with a maximum capacity of 20 participants per session.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for:

HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
-
HLTAID010 – Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
This certification is nationally recognised and valid across Australia. The industry recommendation is to renew CPR certification every 12 months and First Aid certification every 3 years to maintain competency.
Entry Requirements
To participate in this course, students must meet the following requirements:

Have the physical ability to perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor.

Be able to demonstrate rescue breathing techniques using a manikin.

Have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with an internet connection to complete the online learning component.
Performance Tasks & Practical Scenarios
Throughout the course, participants will complete a range of practical scenarios, including:

Performing CPR on an adult, including the use of an AED and placing a casualty in the recovery position

Completing a first aid incident report form based on a simulated emergency

Performing CPR on an infant
-
Managing a casualty with anaphylaxis
-
Managing a casualty with asthma
-
Managing a choking casualty
-
Treating a casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock, including minor wound cleaning

Managing a casualty with a nosebleed
-
Providing care for a casualty with a fracture or dislocation
-
Managing a casualty with a sprain or strain
-
Treating a casualty for envenomation (e.g., snake or funnel-web spider bite)

Complete Training
First Aid Training courses will consist of two parts:

Online pre-course work

A Face to face practical assessment delivered on-site at your location

Receive First Aid Certificate
After participants complete all pre-course work and are deemed competent during their assessment:

Certificate sent to participant via email & USI record updated

Certificates available for download on your Client Portal

The participants organisation will receive all certificates for streamlined administrative purposes

Automatic reminders are sent when staff certificates are due to expire, streamlining the process for refresher training
